Dream-Flight Ahi Quick Connect Wings
Description
I recently went to my local slope soaring club and was watching the guys fly and I thought...Well, I need one of these lol.
Everyone says that the Ahi is a great first plane. It's cheap, aerobatic and quick and easy to assemble.
It was definitely easy to assemble. You can build it in about 1.5hrs but I chose to do a quick connect wing mod because I want to store it in my work truck's 42x20x18 box. The instructions just show to tape everything together. A little trick I learned is to put ointment on the areas you don't want glue to cure on. Then I just used 5min epoxy to glue the connectors into the wing and fuse. Now when I go to fly I just plug the wings in and put 1 screw into the carbon rod that goes through the wing.
I am no artist but I just used some masking tape and some acrylic paint pens to add some color for visibility.
Cant wait to maiden it here soon!
If you haven't checked out Slope Soaring before check out this video of these guys ripping up the slopes. There is a little dynamic soaring action also!
